One of the latest romantic comedies, which stars Sofia Carson, has left people in tears, with some saying they’ve have cried for up to two hours. Yet, despite the tears people who have seen the film say it completely stole their hearts.

At the time it seemed that the romance genre was losing its luster, this surprising new gem has appeared and it’s so relatable that it’s leading people to question their personal relationships.

The Life List: Netflix’s Emotional New Hit

The film, called “The Life List was an adaptation of the novel written of Lori Nelson Spielman and is directed by Adam Brooks.

The movie is narrated by Sofia Carson (Purple Hearts) as Alex who is a young woman who embarks on a life-changing adventure when her mother entrusts her to complete a bucket list she created as a teen. As she travels, Alex uncovers family secrets and rediscovers her passions and of course, discovers love.

The film debuted onto Netflix on the 28th of March and has already risen to the number one spot for films with English in the world with 24.4 millions views according to Netflix’s Tudum.

What’s most surprising to fans isn’t the romance, but also emotions.

A few viewers claim that the film has forced them to make life-altering choices, such as ending relationships with their spouses or resigning from jobs.

Sofia Carson revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“Adam [Brooks] would call me after test screenings and say people told him, ‘I ended up breaking up with my boyfriend,’ or ‘I quit my job.’ That’s how deeply it resonated.”

She said that the tale connects people to their childhood selves, their confidence and hopes they might have abandoned.
